When you upload a file we collect your ip address and browser information. This information is stored until the file is deleted. This allows us to gather statistical information, such as how many files a user uploads. We do not share this information with anyone, unless required to do so by law. For example, if you upload a file that does not belong to you, agencies who enforce copyright infringements may be able to request that the file is deleted and the ip address of the uploader is provided to them. If you choose to create an account with us we will collect and store your email address. If you choose to upgrade to a paid plan with us, we will collect and store your full name and billing address. For security reasons payment details are handled and stored by our trusted payment providers, Stripe. Stripe provide us with the last 4 digits of your card number, the expiry date and the card type.
When you upload a file we store it on our servers in an encrypted format. The file is decrypted when a download is requested. For security reasons we do this with all files, not just those that are marked as private. Unless you choose to make a file private all files you upload are public and can be downloaded by anyone who knows your file’s link (URL). Files that are marked as private will only be accessible by you. You must create an account with us to mark a file as private.
